LOS ANGELES, California — Long Beach State (4-6) was defeated on Wednesday night by the USC Trojans (8-3), 88-78. LBSU was within one point of the Trojans during the second half, but USC went on an 8-0 run at the Galen Center before 1835 in attendance. USC's Reese Dixon-Waters and Tre White both led all scorers with 20 each.
LBSU was down by 11 at the half and had turned the ball over eight times. Long Beach State pulled down 50 rebounds total of which 22 were offensive. Four players scored in double digits for LBSU. Marcus Tsohonis led Long Beach State with 17 points and three steals. Aboubacar Traore had a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds.
The Wednesday night match between LBSU and the Trojans was the fourth since 2018 and USC holds a 4-0 all-time record against Long Beach State.
