LOS ANGELES, California — Joel Murray led Long Beach State (4-5) with the best all-around team performance with 21 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Marcus Tsohonis chipped in 14 points and Lassina Traore contributed 15 points and two steals for LBSU.
Zach Chappell of Sacramento State (5-5) made a bucket at the end of regulation, which resulted in the 76-74 Saturday night win against Long Beach State. LBSU came back from a nine-point defect to tie with 10 seconds to play.
Zach Chappell led all scorers with 25 points and five rebounds for the Hornets. The Hornets shot 13-for-28 from behind the arc and were down by as many as five points during the first half.
Long Beach State has now lost two games in a row on the road.
