LOS ANGELES, California — Long Beach State (6-6) is now on a three-game winning streak and defeated Idaho (5-7) 82-75 before 1114 at the Walter Pyramid on Wednesday night. Joel Murray led all scorers with 21 points and five rebound with a huge nine-point fast break advantage. Lasina Traore had another double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds and four players scored in double figures for LBSU. LBSU's bench scoring and three-point shoot percentage secured the non-conference win.
Yusef Salih led the Vandals with 18 points and two rebounds. Idaho had four players that scored in double figures but were out rebounded by 12 and did not shoot the ball well enough from behind the arc.
The Wednesday night match between LBSU and Idaho was the second match between the programs. The Vandals have lost two in a row all-time.
