LOS ANGELES, California — TY Johnson led UC Davis past Long Beach State on Thursday night with 33 points in a 73-65 overtime victory at The Walter Pyramid before 1904 in attendance.
Johnson also had four assists and four rebounds for UC Davis (13-10, 7-5 Big West), shooting 9 for 17 (4 for 8 from 3-point range) and 11 of 14 from the free-throw line. Pablo Tamba chipped in 14 points, shooting 7 for 10 for the Aggies.
Cam Denson tallied 10 points and three rebounds off the bench, including 2 for 3 from beyond the arc for LBSU and Austin Johnson added 9 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Andrew Nagy also had 9 points and five rebounds.
Devin Askew led Long Beach State (7-17, 3-9 Big West) with 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists bringing it's Big West Conference match losing streak to seven.
Long Beach State holds an all-time record of 29-15 against UC Davis. The Aggies are set to upgrade and join the Mountain West Conference for the 2026-2027 season due to the prestige of the athletics program due to football and value it adds to degrees at UC Davis.
