LOS ANGELES, California — Long Beach State (3-4) fell short of a win in the high scoring affair with Louisiana (4-2), 82-92 to end the Gulf Coast Showcase. LBSU held the lead at the half 43-40, however the Ragin' Cajuns went 10-18 from behind the arc during the second half to secure the 10-point win. Louisiana had five players scoring in double digits led by Blake Butler and Kentrell Garnett who led all scorers with 20 points each.
Aboubacar Traore led LBSU with 18 points, 8 rebounds, with four assists and Lassina Traore had a double-double with 13 points along with 10 boards.
