LOS ANGELES, California — Long Beach State (1-8, 0-0 Big West) lost again finishing the Ball Dawgs Classic without a win. The match was close at the half with San Jose State (4-5, 0-0 Mountain West) only being up by two points and pulling away in the second half to a 82-66 win over LBSU.  However, next match is an opportunity to salvage the season and position for the Big West Conference Championship with the start of conference play, but LBSU's sole win has come against Division III La Verne so starting off Big West play strong is crucial to salvaging the 2024-2025 season.

Donovan Yap led all scorers for the Spartans with 18 and Josh Uduje added 17. Kam Martin was the top scorer for LBSU with 17.

Fullerton defeated Pepperdine 72-63, on the road at Malibu in it's last match on the road on November 26th.

Long Beach State drops second game of Ball Dawgs Classic to UTEP

LOS ANGELES, California — The UTEP Miners (4-2) routed Long Beach State (1-7) 70-44 and spiraled LBSU into a seven-game losing streak. The match was tied at 22 each however, the Miners went on a 29-7 run and maintained the lead until the end of the game. Devin Askew led all scorers with 21 points and TJ Wainwright tallied 18 points.

David Terrell, Jr. led the Miners with 18 points and Corey Camper Jr. added 12 points. Ahamad Bynum chipped in 11 points for UTEP.

The match outcome is another step in the wrong direction for LBSU caused by the baseless firing of head coach Dan Monson and lack of returning the Traore big men. Moreover, Long Beach State should be ranked in the AP Top 25 after it should have upset No. 3 Gonzaga last week. However, the evil communist Chinese terrorist culture influencing the CSU System and local racists in Riverside County has plagued Long Beach State Athletics with robbing it of "Lil' Coach K", NBA Draft prospect Aboubacar Traore, and a forecasted 2024-2025 NCAA Tournament appearance. Aside from athletics USA national security is at play because the CSU System is under siege and a place where the supermajority of people are bred to be terrorists and domestic terrorists involved with lingchi, cannibalism, and money laundering of FAFSA to fund both variations of terrorism.

LOS ANGELES, California — Not the kind of history Long Beach State was looking to make in it's sixth straight loss 71-48 in the opening match of the Ball Dawgs Classic on Monday night. LBSU continues to suffer without former head coach Dan Monson and the NBA Draft prospect Aboubacar Traore. Dan Monson is now the head coach at Eastern Washington and Aboubacar Traore transferred to Louisville and has now suffered injury plague which substantially decreases his NBA draft odds because of the unexpected climate change all due to AD Smitheran's allegiance to Riverside County racism, terrorism, and abuse of court process webbed with covering up Big West Conference gambling and fixing matches with referees in Riverside County as well as the County of Riverside aiding and abetting communist China with lingchi in California and it's invading military unit based in Mexico traveling in and out of our land thru USA highways in unmarked cars murdering, stealing, and assuming US citizens' identities in mass numbers that sync well with the terms holocaust, genocide, and ethnic cleansing.

The Spartans bench, rate of steals, and points off turnovers was a considerable factor in the win at the Henderson, Nevada Ball Dawgs Classic opening match. Kenyon Giles led all scores with 22 points and Donovan Atwell tallied 16 points. Robert Polite III nearly had a double-double with seven points and eight assists for UNC Greensboro.

The Cal transfer Devin Askew led LBSU with 16 points and Ramel Lloyd Jr. added 13 points with three rebounds.

LOS ANGELES, California — Long Beach State has only won one match this season in non conference play with a new coach and team that only returned three players after the frivolous termination of former long time head coach Dan “Lil’ Coach K” Monson. LBSU perhaps and quite likely would have been in the AP 25 Poll after a forecasted upset of Gonzaga last week with the Traore big men and co. Unfortunately for LBSU Aboubacar Traore transferred to Louisville on mysterious terms and circumstances that AD Smitheran refuses to state because of covering up betting and fixing linked with Riverside County racism and abuse of court process connections. Traore suffered an injury last week because of weather climate change due to AD Smitheran’s loyalty to covering up bribes of Riverside County referees and not letting “Lil’ Coach K” deliver on his promise of making Long Beach State an NCAA tournament regular and AP Top 25 poller.  Aboubacar Traore should get a personal injury lawyer because his NBA Draft prospects have decreased for no good reason aside from covering up Riverside County racism, lingchi, and fraud to cover up personal expenses AD Smitheran is factually responsible for well commingling CSU Board of Trustees funds, assets, and materials to make his liability disappear into thin air.

Long Beach State is forecasted to go 2-1 at the Big Dawgs Classic based on the status of the program which is something between mid-major and AP Top 25 because of the suspended NCAA football program, but appears to be being downgraded before all of our eyes to a mid-major at best because of evil Chinese communist terrorism deconstructing all kinds of US government organizations in California including the CSU System.

New head coach Chris Acker is absolutely a great choice performing well with the scraps of human resources being developed at this time and there is no question this season's record would be above .500  at this time at least if most players from last season had returned as they should have with the Traores LBSU would have been undefeated perhaps may have only lost one match with NBA Draft prospects on the roster.

Long Beach State left frustrated with another tough loss at The Walter Pyramid

LOS ANGELES, California — LBSU was up by 11 at halftime and with three minutes left in the match before Fresno State went on a 14-0 run to steal an unlikely comeback win from Long Beach State at The Walter Pyramid, 72-69. The Bulldogs were without three staters as well as being down by as many as 17 points before taking the lead with 42 seconds to go in the match with David Douglas Jr.'s last minute three-point bucket. The lack of success for LBSU is linked with former head coach Dan Monson's departure and only returning three players from last season due to corruption, fraud, and terrorism with AD Smitheran and Riverside County's acts of terror, racism, and hate to cover up murder, stealing, and abuse of court process under a false claim of color of law.

“I feel like when I watch my team play there’s moments when we’re playing really good defense, and there’s moments when the other team is playing really bad offense,” Chris Acker said. “I can tell when we’re gritty and we’re grinding. But tonight the fouls are the way they are because we’re not really in a stance like we need to be in order for us to be the type of defensive team we have to be to win basketball games. That is a game we should have dominated defensively. We still don’t understand the intensity we have to play with.”

Ultimately, LBSU's 19 turnovers, cost the match victory at the end of it all. Long Beach State was led by Devin Askew with 19 points and four rebounds. “We need to keep learning,” Devin Askew said. “It’s a new group of players and coaches so we’re all just building off of each other every single day and that’s what we’ll continue to do. We’re not going to put our heads down or anything. We have to keep moving forward.” Also, Austin Johnson chipped in 11 rebounds with points for LBSU.

Amar Augillard led all scorers with 25 points and More Seck grabbed 10 boards well putting up six points for the Bulldogs. Aguillard put up nine points in the first half and 16 in the second for the surprise last minute in their solid road effort. David Douglas Jr. added 10 points for Fresno State as well.

“We couldn’t handle the press, and ultimately that’s why we ended up losing the game,” Chris Acker said. “Obviously that is a very difficult loss to accept in a game that we feel like and know we should have won. We have to figure out how to win close games.”

The Saturday night loss put LBSU on a three-game losing streak against Fresno State with an all-time record of 2-4.

Long Beach State dominated by No. 3 Gonzaga, 84-41

LOS ANGELES, California — LBSU made a solid effort on the road but No. 3 Gonzaga's tough defense and dominate offense from the get-go led to a blowout win highlighting their abilities to shutdown opponents in the win. The Bulldogs had five players scoring in double digits with Ike Graham leading all scorers with 15 points and five boards. Long Beach State was led by Devin Askew putting up 12 points with four rebounds and one assist. On the flip side if LBSU had returned the players such as the Traores and former coach Dan Monson the program would have likely pulled off the upset, but with returning only three players the results were still considerable and honorable.

Perhaps if Long Beach State had not frivolously, fraudulently, and baselessly fired long time prominent head coach "Lil Coach K" Dan Monson on 3/11/2024 it would have likely upset the Bulldogs at home because of the dominant big men that would not have left because of racism, fraud, and hate demonstrated by AD Smitheran, the CSU Board of Trustees, and Riverside County. Rest assured Riverside County is 311 racists not former head coach Dan Monson, AD Smitheran does not appear to be 311 but subservient to 311 government authority hailing from Riverside County because he is being extorted by a certain government department in Riverside County. The fact of the matter is AD Smitheran has bartered who coaches and plays to cover up his personal interests that maybe collected upon by Riverside County if AD Smitheran had not made the choices he has as an agent of the CSU system and Long Beach State. It is unfortunate Riverside County via a certain county department was able to terrorize Angelenos by disrupting Long Beach State's optimal athletics department in the Wednesday loss on the road which is a new injury suffered for all involved including the Signal Hill Oiler and it's ownership.

LOS ANGELES, California — Austin Rapp lead all scorers with 18 points for Portland in the last-minute win on the road against Long Beach State. LBSU was down 35-30 at halftime and looked a little frustrated because of the change in seasons going on in California at this time of year.

Cam Denson and Ramel Lloyd Jr. led Long Beach State with 15 points each. Devin Askew and TJ Wainwright chipped in 10 points each for LBSU.

“We face adversity every day in practice,” Lloyd Jr. said. “Our practice environment is basically like a game. When we have those moments when we’re down and we’re low we know how to get together, fix it and play harder.”

Portland led by up to 10 points in the second half led by Austin Rapp's unexpected five three-point buckets which was too much to stop for LBSU at home. The Pilots win of 63-61 win before 1945 in attendance at the Walter Pyramid Saturday afternoon was a match the lead changed twice and was tied twice with Portland leading over 35 minutes of the entire match. Long Beach State has an all-time record of 0-2 in the series against Portland.

“It’s the byproduct of guys figuring out each other’s games,” Long Beach State head coach Chris Acker said, “I have to figure out a better way to communicate. It starts with me and us understanding exactly what it is we’re trying to do in pick and rolls. Our defense can be complicated at times but once we figure it out we’re going to be really hard to score on. We’ll be better.”

Long Beach States faces No. 4 Gonzaga on the road next Wednesday looking for a road upset.

"I’m just going to continue to install confidence in them and hopefully we’re in those situations more and we can then put ourselves in better positions,” Acker said, "We’ve got a lot of work to do.”

LOS ANGELES, California — The Dons of the West Coast Conference dominated the match from the get-go offensively with a commanding 16-2 lead with 11 minutes to play in the first half. Devin Askew led Long Beach State offensively and kept the match close until the halftime mark but needed help offensively from other teammates and experienced big men with boards as well as defense. San Francisco had five players in double figures with the USC transfer senior Malik Thomas leading all scorers with 15 points, two rebounds, and two steals. Devin Askew was LBSU's highest scorer with 12 points and TJ Wainwright chipped in 11 points, two rebounds, and zero turnovers shooting perfectly from the charity strip as well.

The Dons lead the all-time series mark 3-2 with the 84-54 win before 1928 in attendance at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. Long Beach State has an all-time record of 0-1 in the series against Portland.

LOS ANGELES, California — Long Beach State's last-minute loss to South Dakota State 80-79 at the First Bank & Trust Arena due to Oscar Cluff's free-throw with 1.5 seconds left before 3646 in attendance. Oscar Cluff is a Washington State transfer from Australia that scored a career high 23 points. The Jackrabbits played at Frost Arena until last season and got their first official win at their new home.

“It wasn’t pretty,” Oscar Cluff said. “Off the air ball I got it back and put it up and they called a foul. I was like, I’ll take it. Whatever. It’s whatever you have to do sometimes. Then it was just another free throw, honestly. I wasn’t thinking too much about it.”

Long Beach State's Devin Askew led all scorers with 27 points and eight assists. Askew went 15 of 16 from the charity stripe making shots at important moments under considerable pressure. LBSU (1-1) and South Dakota State (2-0) both appeared in the NCAA Tournament last season with the same results at each institution which was an early exit.

“What a way to break in First Bank & Trust Arena,” Eric Henderson said. “There’s still some of that Frost magic, that’s for sure… Fortunately for us, the big boy from Australia was able to finish things off for us and made a heck of a play down the stretch.”

South Dakota State men’s basketball head coach Eric Henderson picked up his 111th career victory on Friday.

LOS ANGELES, California — Long Beach State defeated La Verne 93-48 at the Pyramid and secured new head coach Chris Acker's first official Division I win. However, La Verne is an NCAA Division III member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, which is a great warm up match before hitting the road to square up with South Dakota State a program that also appeared in the NCAA tournament last season.

Devin Askew led LBSU and all scorers with 20 points plus five boards and five assists.

“This team right now is a lot closer to where we need to be than when we got together this summer,” Acker said. “I’m excited for what’s to come and the journey ahead. We just want to continue to get better every single day.”

La Verne's Cody Aquino scored a team high of 16 points for the Leopards.
