LOS ANGELES, California — LBSU closed its road trip at the .500 mark before returning home to the Walter Pyramid later this week. Montana State (3-3) led by as many as 13 during the second half, but Long Beach State (4-4) went on a 20-2 run for the 75-69 win. MSU of the Big Sky appeared to be pulling away before 2501 in attendance at Worthington Arena.

"I thought the last five minutes, we just got away from the fundamentals and the habits that helped us build the lead," Montana State head coach Matt Logie said. "We made some plays that were out of character, maybe because we were getting worn down. We've just got to tighten things up and kind of stick to the script. I thought we were well prepared. We executed really well for 35 minutes and didn't quite finish the job."

Marcus Tsohonis led all scorers with 26 points for LBSU. Lassina Traore chipped in with a double-double 15 scoring points and grabbing 13 rebounds along with Messiah Thompson adding 10 points.

"Responded to our challenge on the glass," head coach Matt Logie said. "Obviously Long Beach State is a very athletic team and prides themselves on second-chance points, points off turnovers, and fastbreak points. I thought we did a tremendous job on the glass tonight, that was the best we rebounded all year. We saw some good things in transition and on offense, but we turned the ball over a little too much and didn't convert opportunities that were right there for us."

The Bobcats had three players scoring double digits with Tyler Patterson leading all team scorers with 20.

LOS ANGELES, California — Long Beach State (2-2) had four players scoring in double digits in the 94-86 win on the road. Michigan celebrated Star Wars Night with 10,866 in attendance at the Crisler Center. Big Ten Conference powerhouse Michigan (3-1) led by as many as 16 points midway through the first half. However, "the force" was not with Michigan due to great team play and tough defense deployed by LBSU which caused Michigan to only lead by two points at the half. LBSU took the lead during the second half with 17:16 to go 54-52. Long Beach State (2-2) had four players scoring in double digits in the 94-86 win on the road.

Marcus Tsohonis led Long Beach State and all scorers with 35 points and Lassina Traore had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Aboubacar Traore and Messiah Thompson added 12 points each.

The Wolverines were led Oliver Nkamhoua's double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. “A big problem we had was, every time we would score, we wouldn’t react equally fast to get back,” Oliver Nkamhoua said, “To just get stops to slow them down. We were letting them get too many transition breakouts and that starts with communication.”

LOS ANGELES, California — Long Beach State (1-2) had a high shooting percentage in all categories and ended up getting into team foul trouble in the 88-76 loss on the road. San Diego State University (2-1) honored Native American Heritage Month at the annual Nike N7 match on Tuesday night at Steve Fisher Court, Viejas Arena with 12,414 in attendance. “We got to get three stops in a row and if we get three stops and score that’s where you build your momentum,” Head coach Brian Dutcher said. “I think we got three, four or five stops in a row in a stretch there. And so when you’re getting stops and then you’re scoring three or four in a row, that’s really all of a sudden it goes from two or four to six, eight, 10, 12-point lead, and that’s what we were able to do tonight.”

Jaedon LeDee led all scorers and matched his career high of 27 points and 11 rebounds and went 10-of-10 from the charity strike for the Aztecs. SDSU had five players in double figures and the Aztec bench only had eight total for the match. Elizjah Saunders contributed 11 points and six boards.

Marcus Tsohonis led Long Beach State with 17 points and AJ George chipped in 15 points going 5-of-5 from the free throw line. Jadon Jones added 10 points for LBSU.

Long Beach State has lost eight in a row and 16 of the last 17 meetings with San Diego State.
